Croydon tragedy

On my way home last week from the big house after covering the most traumatic of stories.

A 15 year old child killed in Croydon. I can’t imagine what those parents are going through. Your child goes to school and doesn’t come home.

The fact that it’s a girl makes it even worse.

The most difficult interview that I do is when it is with someone who has lost a child through gun or knife crime.

I find myself imagining it was me. I’d be finished!!

I remember Rob (Robbie Gee) saying to me that you don’t really know love until you have kids and he was right. You love them much more than you love yourself.  Your love has no limits.

There are so many stories coming out and the blame game has started.

What makes a guy leave his house with the equivalent of a sword? Why would someone use said sword on a woman?

It has forced me to have conversations with my 14 year old which are utterly depressing.

I understand the push for harsher sentencing but I just want someone to do some work. Is there any commonality in the boys who commit these crimes and carry these weapons. Mum, dad, education, video games, mental illness, rap videos, cost of living 🤷🏽‍♂️

My deepest sympathies to everyone affected and I pray that something good can come from this horrific story. But I’m not holding my breath
