No story has got to me like this one. The abuse, the inhumanity, the loss of innocence.
Even though the report cites race as a contributing factor, I’ve asked listeners to take that element out.
In my experience, unless we get everyone to think it might happen to their child, or unless they actually see it, they aren’t triggered in the same way.
I admire these parents.
