My Only Regret? ⬇️

On Friday night, I had the privilege of hosting a powerful seminar on generational wealth at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham.

It’s a venue I know well — I hosted the London Mayoral TV debate there — and it sits right next door to one of the busiest food banks in the city. That contrast wasn’t lost on me: having honest conversations about building wealth just steps away from where people are experiencing real financial hardship. It made the evening feel even more meaningful, even more urgent.

The event brought together a brilliant panel of financial experts who shared practical, accessible advice on everything from debt and saving to life insurance, wills, pensions, investments, and lasting power of attorney. The turnout was incredible, and the audience questions proved just how essential these conversations are.

My only regret?
That we ran out of time before we could answer them all.

Here are a few takeaways that really stuck with me:
•   The language you use around money matters — speak in possibility, not fear.
•   Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
•   Books, podcasts, and apps can be powerful (and free!) tools.
•   Teach your children the value of budgeting early.
•   It’s never too early to think about a pension.
•   Learn how ISAs work — they can be a game changer.
•   And remember: every journey begins with a single step. It’s not about where you are, but where you’re going.

I’m truly grateful to host important debates, workshops and seminars like this across London. Huge thanks to the team at Embrace for creating such a positive and informed space. We all walked away with something new.
