Greetings, Today I am thinking about money and that always makes me sad. Funny how I am always talking about being broke and people tell me I’m rich. Feels like the more money you make is the more you spend. I was watching something the other day which was explaining why the person who earned £3k a month but had expenses of 1k was technically richer than the person earning 5k with expenses of 4k.
So, how to reduce expenditure in a cost of living crisis? Whether we should save money while having debts. If you didn’t work for 3 months how would you fare? Funny thing is that the only time I haven’t worried about money is when I was gambling. It is when I stopped that it all came on top.
I keep telling myself we don’t need a cleaner. That we used to spend the whole of Saturday cleaning the house but apparently things are different now 🤷🏽♂️ Why is there so much washing? Surely the children can wear the school trousers and jumper for more than one day? Why do we have to buy a new jumper, there were loads in the lost property box at school? I’ll just take one and wash it. One of my proudest achievements was buying a school blazer for the big boy in Year 7 that still fits him in year 10. The hems in my trousers used to go up to my knee. What about darning? Could use the material from the old trousers to fix the rip in the new one.
We spoil our children and encourage them to be profligate. Example, the Little barl head one came to me last night and said he couldn’t eat the strawberries because they “go out of date tomorrow”. You ever hear this nonsense? Best before, use by, blah blah blah. “Use your nose boy and smell it” Anyone else remember cutting the blue bit of the bread and toasting it?
Anyway I’m making myself laugh on the train and the woman beside me is getting uncomfortable. Any money making or saving tips would be absolutely welcome.
I’m apparently stuck with the person who takes most of my money 🤫
Have a wonderful and productive day 🌞 🧡
