Musings of a mad badman in a train.
I’ve been having this ongoing counselling sessions with Ian, a man of a particular age working with me at the big house. I welcome our chats because the office is full of children who live at home with their parents, don’t pay mortgages or have their name on any bill but the mobile but 🤷🏽♂
Anyway it turns out we have a lot in common, namely young sons who think because they are taller that they are the badman of the house.
Last year Ian went on holiday with his family and he and his son punched that thing which gives a reading indicating how hard it’s been hit.
His son is 13 👀 and beat him. 🥊
Through the year this terrible child reminded him of that defeat regularly. 🤬
Now like any self respecting man, he challenged his offspring to repeat the feat the following year.
I could relate to having an ungrateful little bar steward in my house who was not only taller but can run faster too. The other day he asked me if I wanted him to open a turn screw top 😡 Everyone knows that man’s work. When Mrs Nestor is vex (often) and has to ask me to open something it is a joy second only to an…. 😋Anyway the point I’m making is (in that moment) she don’t want to admit she needs me and if this yout opens the bottle then she doesn’t.
So back to Ian. Not only did he challenge the boy, he (unlike me) actually started using the gym he built in the garden.
Just to make sure, he started working out with a martial arts expert. So confident was he that on the first day of this year’s holiday, he changed up some money and tossed the coin.
It was the boy who went first clocking an impressive 850. Now came the moment!!
Cometh the hour, cometh the badman…..or so he thought.
810,811,801. 🙁
And so it continued everyday of that two week holiday.
His wife, the child’s mother, made the ridiculous error of advising him to let it go. She told him that it didn’t matter to her.
How awful of her!
Of course it matters.
There is another man in the house and he is like Steve Austin) bigger, stronger and faster.
Ian was understandably devastated and that 14 year old is now looking for a hostel.
Very soon he will have the company of my first born. Two man can’t live in the same house 😂
