As a social commentator Eddie has featured on numerous TV & radio programmes and documentaries across Channel 4, ITV2, MTV, Sky Arts and the BBC, speaking on wide ranging subjects from politics, British / African-Caribbean culture and the arts.
Eddie built a cult following on Choice FM where he built up a “must listen” phone in on a station famed for music. He was head hunted by BBC Radio London in October 2002. Since then he has won a number of awards with his unique view of the day’s news. Known to listeners as the Voice of London, Eddie was born & raised in Hackney and attended several youth drama groups before becoming a professional actor. His breakthrough role was as Staff Nurse Cyril James in 3 series of Casualty. His many TV and film roles since include: The Real McCoy BBC Canterbury Tales, Death in Paradise, The Bill and Eastenders to name a few. Films include Paddington, Idris Elba’s Yardie, Trainspotting, Face. And Lovers Rock (The Documentary)
Eddie was a founding member of the Posse who wrote & produced their own shows for stage & television, breaking down many barriers that existed for Black artists. He founded GeeStor Productions more than 30 years ago & has produced a diverse range of hugely popular events, ranging from karaoke nights, comedy & theatre shows, to foreign holidays and weddings.
A Cancer survivor, Eddie has buddied many people through the nightmare diagnosis and regularly features issues relating to Cancer survival on his show. Eddie is passionate about charity and has run the London marathon, jumped from a plane and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro raising over £100,000 for charities such as Macmillan Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Diabetes UK, African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust and many more. He is a huge advocate of mentoring and has raised money for the Rudolph Walker Foundation & Urban Synergy for whom he is also a patron.
